Introducing Obagi Clenziderm acne treatment system

There's a reason why most dermatologists recommend Obagi Clenziderm acne treatment system – it does what it says. Whether you have normal to oily skin or normal to dry skin, using Obagi Clenziderm you could go from constant breakouts to an occassional zit to nearly perfect skin in a short while.

Obagi Clenziderm acne treatment system works by eliminating excess oil, unclogging congested pores and purifying skin using an anti-bacterial formula.

 The system consists of 3 steps / products, which are specifically formulated to work together for best results: a wash, toner and treatment.

Obagi Clenziderm M.D. Daily Care Cream Cleanser (Step 1)

With 2% salicylic acid, washes away dead skin cells and cools and calms irritated skin, removing dirt, oil, makeup and all other impurities in the process and leaving your skin clean and refreshed.
 
Ingredients: Butyl avocadate, cetyl hydroxyethylcellulose, cocamidopropyl betaine, disodium EDTA, ethoxydiglycol, fragrance, menthyl lactate, menthol, sodium lauryl sulfate, sodium laureth sulfate, ext. violet 2 (CI 60730), Water (aqua).

Obagi Clenziderm M.D. Therapeutic Lotion (Step 2)

Unclogs pores and eliminates residue on the skin, thus preventing new breakouts and at the same time paving the way for the therapeutic moisturiser (see step 3) to penetrate and take effect.

Ingredients:

Ethoxydiglycol, Benzyl alcohol, Benzalkonium chloride, Fragrance, Glycerin, Menthyl lactate, Menthoxypropan and Menthol.

Obagi Clenziderm M.D. Therapeutic Moisturizer(Step 3)

Hydrates and protects the skin, reaching deep within your pores where acne starts without further clogging them.

Ingredients:

Allantoin, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer Butylparaben, Cetyl Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Ethylparaben, Isobutylparaben, Lauryl PEG/PPG-18/18 Methicone, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Phenoxyethanol, Triethanolamine and Water (aqua).

Overall Opinion
 

Pros

  • Does what it says ‘clears, soothes, and protects your skin’.
  • Quick, lasting results.
  • Doesn’t dry out skin as much as other products.
  • Gentle and refreshing cleanser.
  • Very good for oily skin.
  • Non-irritating (doesn’t burn or sting).
  • No chemical smell.
  • Keeps cystic breakouts at bay.

Cons

  • Works best when all 3 products are used together rather than separately.
  • Requires regular use for maximum effect.
  • It is quite expensive whether bought as a kit or seperately. However, it really is worth the price.
  • May cause dryness at the start but this usually stops after a week of regular use.
